Our Base

base Discovering the sea with another point of view.  Dive Tatapouri is situated on the waterfront 10mins drive from Gisborne on State Highway 35.  It is the perfect place to unwind whilst soaking up the local culture, history and unique marine surroundings.  Tatapouri Bay is one of the first places to see the sun each day.  The Te Tapuwae O Rongokako Marine Reserve is just around the corner and dive or snorkelling trips to  the reserve can be organised.
All our activities depart from the base.

The facility is also available for private functions, kitchen and BBQ facilities on site, alternatively we can help to organise one of our local talented caterers, musicians, and bus transport.

Visitor Comments:

The Prime Minister, as Minister of Tourism, was really impressed by Tatapouri Dive's stingray experience - with the ‘sun-setting, a glass of fine Gisborne wine around a blazing fire, it was hard to get him away!!'

I went down in a shark cage off the coast of Tatapouri, near Gisborne on the East Coast of New Zealand. We left at 6am to get out far enough and to attract the sharks, then spent about an hour in the cage. Really scary but 100% worth it

This place rocks! Everything is so beautiful - feeding the stingrays was awesome.
